Beijing Trip Journal - A Memorable Experience
As a high school student, I recently had the opportunity to visit Beijing on a school trip. It was truly a memorable experience that I will cherish for years to come.
Our first stop was the Forbidden City, which was once the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The grandeur and magnificence of the architecture left me speechless. As we walked through the various halls and gardens, I couldn’t help but imagine what life would have been like for the emperors and empresses who once resided there.
Next, we visited the Great Wall of China. It was a breathtaking sight to behold, and I felt incredibly fortunate to be standing on such an iconic landmark. Climbing up the steep steps was no easy feat, but the stunning views from the top made it all worth it.
One of the highlights of the trip was visiting the Summer Palace, a beautiful park and palace complex that served as a retreat for the royal family during the hot summer months. The intricately designed buildings and serene lake were a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city, and I found myself feeling at peace amidst the tranquil surroundings.
Of course, no visit to Beijing would be complete without trying some of the local cuisine. From Peking duck to dumplings, I was blown away by the variety and deliciousness of the food. It was such a treat to not only experience the cultural and historical significance of Beijing, but also its culinary delights.
Overall, my trip to Beijing was an unforgettable experience that taught me so much about Chinese culture and history. From the awe-inspiring landmarks to the mouth-watering food, I am grateful for the opportunity to have been able to explore and learn more about this incredible city.
